Job Summary:This position is responsible for the operation of faculty and staffworkstations and computer labs on the Volunteer State CommunityCollege campuses. This job requires software installation, hardwareinstallation, implementation of security, program modification, andtroubleshooting of both Apple and Windows operating systems. Thisjob also requires knowledge of desktop and applicationvirtualization. Travel to off campus locations is required. Thisposition also manages the hardware/software inventory logistics forthe college.
Job Duties:Install, relocate, maintain, upgrade, troubleshoot, and repair abroad range of networked and non-networked client hardware devicesand software applications. Build, maintain and deploy computerimages. Responsible for maintaining accurate hardware and softwareinventories. Research and evaluate software packages and operatingsystems. Modify applications to disable certain potentiallydangerous features. Respond to emergency situations as needed.Administer computer labs. Able to work with minimal supervision andmake decisions within college policies and guidelines. Able tooccasionally work weekends or unusual hours. Able to communicatetechnical concepts to non-technical users. Evaluate and recommendvarious hardware devices and software applications forcompatibility with existing college hardware, software and networkplatforms. Manages an IT Service Management (ITSM) system thattracks all of the software/hardware assets of the college. Otherduties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:Associate's degree in a computer-related discipline OR High schooldiploma or equivalent and 2 years of client support in an ActiveDirectory environment.
Preferred Qualifications:Microsoft and/or Apple certifications.
Experience with SCCM and MECM Client Management suites.
Experience with Macintosh OSX and Apple IOS.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Proficient with Microsoft applications.
Basic knowledge of networking, Active Directory, and serverprinciples.
Ability to diagnose computer related problems by utilizing industrybest practices, troubleshooting techniques, analytical skills andvendor support.
Candidates must enjoy working in a team environment supporting avaried constituency and possess a solid working knowledge oftechnologies used in a computing laboratory environment in highereducation.
Good problem solving, organization, and communication skills.
Ability to learn new technology skills quickly.
Working experience with Microsoft Access.
Pay Rate: $42,031 - $50,437 annual salarydepending on experience
