Job summary

Lancaster County Economic Development is seeking an IT Technician I to provide first- and second-level technical support to County employees under the Service Desk Supervisor. You will manage service requests, incidents, and project tasks through resolution and escalation, delivering high end-user satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred; 1–2 years in a helpdesk or tech support role desired.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
• Excellent oral, written, and customer service skills.
• Must have valid driver's license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot hardware and software, repairing issues promptly with minimal recurrence.
• Manage and resolve assigned service requests and incidents; escalate as needed.
• Use remote tools and ticketing system to diagnose and repair issues within SLAs.
• Provide regular status updates to end users and confirm problem resolution.
• Document information thoroughly in the county’s ticketing system.
• Maintain inventory of desktop hardware and software.
• Serve as point of contact for vendor-related issues and triage before escalation.
• Assist with phone and data cabling infrastructure maintenance.
• Demonstrate superior customer service to all staff.
