Town of Pecos City is seeking an entry-level IT Technician I to provide frontline support across Town departments, troubleshoot hardware and software, and help staff use technology effectively.
Under the IT Manager, you will learn Town systems, perform imaging and deployment tasks, maintain accurate ticket notes, and participate in after-hours support as needed. A valid Texas driver's license is required.
Under the general direction of the IT Manager, performs entry-level technical support work for Town departments and facilities, including frontline troubleshooting, equipment setup, basic software support, customer service, and related operational assistance. This position learns Town systems, follows established procedures, and supports innovation by identifying practical improvements and helping staff use technology tools effectively.
This position uses computers, phones, printers, scanners, software tools, mobile devices, and related communications equipment. Duties may require prolonged computer use, lifting up to 50 pounds, movement between facilities, entering tight spaces, periodic evening or weekend work, and on-call support for mission-critical technology issues. Work is generally performed in climate-controlled office environments and Town facilities, with occasional exposure to outdoor conditions while supporting equipment or operations.
