Job summary

Meade County is seeking an IT Technician to provide frontline technical support and manage endpoint patching, software deployment, and security for county workstations and devices. You will work with the IT Director and Senior Technician to ensure reliable technology services across departments.

The role requires attention to detail, initiative, and communication, with the potential for after-hours maintenance as needed. Starting wage is $27.69/hour, non-exempt, full-time with benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; associate degree preferred.
• Experience in technical support or help desk is preferred.
• Working knowledge of Windows desktop OS, hardware, peripherals, and common business apps.

Responsibilities

• Provide frontline technical support for County employees.
• Manage endpoint patching, software deployment, maintenance, and security.
• Configure, deploy, and retire County computers and related equipment.
• Assist with onboarding/offboarding and asset inventories.
• Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues, document steps and escalate when needed.
