DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

POSITION DESCRIPTION


  • Assist with installing and maintaining local desktops and system documentation.

  • Provide technical support to users in collaboration with the support desk and network team.

  • Assist the network team in troubleshooting network equipment issues and perform repairs or upgrades as needed.

  • Availability during normal business hours is expected, with occasional overtime or schedule adjustments required.

  • Demonstrate analysis, judgment, attention to detail, dependability, effective communication, initiative, professionalism, teamwork, and a commitment to work standards and appearance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Assist with the installation, configuration, maintenance, and operation of Local Area Networks.

  • Provide support such as password resets and email account creation for network users.

  • Install PCs, software, and peripheral devices.

  • Assist with PC and network configuration and cabling.

  • Manage end-user accounts, permissions, and access rights.

  • Install and maintain network cabling and equipment.

  • Assist with troubleshooting network-connected hardware, software, and peripherals.

  • Manage computer labs, including software installation for each quarter or special events, with travel to off-site locations as needed.

  • Order software, hardware, and supplies for the network, computers, and labs.

  • Maintain the phone system.

  • Set up technology for meetings, training, conferences, and events, which may require off-site travel.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate degree in computer science, data processing, or related field.
  • Preferred: Three years of IT/helpdesk support experience.
  • Ability to install software and hardware on network equipment and computers.
  • Knowledge of various networking and personal computer software.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on computers and peripherals.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with staff and the public.
  • Teamwork-oriented with a proactive attitude.
  • Ability to present information clearly in individual and group settings.
  • Ability to anticipate needs and work independently.
  • Focus on quality, adaptability, and managing deadlines effectively.
