SUMMARY OF POSITION
IT Technician’s is responsible for assisting staff with support issues by phone, email and other support systems while maintaining a high level of customer service. This position will be responsible for the setup and troubleshooting of computers and software as well as performing technical and system diagnostics as required. This position will support other related business aspects of the IT Department by assisting with setup and troubleshooting of company phones, printers, copiers and other office equipment as needed.
Please note: This is an on‑site role. Applicants must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Lansing, MI area and commute to the office daily.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- Provide technical assistance to Dean staff and seek resolution as necessary
- Provide frontline IT support, responding to technical issues submitted through phone, email, and ticketing systems within agreed-upon SLAs.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues on desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and printers.
- Install, configure, and update operating systems, software, and hardware for new and existing users.
- Maintain computer equipment and software to ensure secure and efficient operations.
- Document solutions and troubleshooting steps for recurring issues and update the knowledge base for future reference.
- Manage user accounts, including setting up new accounts, handling password resets, and managing permissions.
- Collaborate with other IT team members and escalation complex issues to senior engineers as needed.
- Ensure security measures are followed to protect the integrity of data and systems.
- Document solutions and troubleshooting steps for recurring issues and update the knowledge base for future reference.
SPECIFIC ABILITIES
- High School Diploma required, college degree in IT, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience as an IT Technician or similar position preferred.
- Knowledge of MS Office/M365 applications
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
