OVERVIEW

Working as Full-time IT Technical Support Analyst, you will provide technical support for Fastenal's support teams, Operations and Fulfillment systems. You will be an intricate part of the day-to-day business. You will assist employees by supporting FMI Technology Hardware & applications and their associated process flows throughout the various IT systems. You will use your knowledge and expertise to make recommendations for operational and support excellence. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Providing technical support, expertise, and fluidity for the various FMI Technology hardware applications and systems through service tickets, phone calls, and emails
• Troubleshooting processes and debugging user interface (UI) applications, hardware and system integrations
• Creating and maintaining a variety of queries and technical documentation
• Determining the root cause of various hardware, software, application and database sync problems
• Collaborating with other IT teams across a wide variety of systems
• Providing technical support for level one support teams within the company
• Providing 24x7 support on critical systems in an on-call rotation

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:

• 18 years of age or older
• Possess or working toward a degree in Information Technology, Math, Statistics, Data Science, Actuarial Science, Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering OR possess IT work experience OR Fastenal work experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially via telephone and email
• Proficient computer skills
• Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
• Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented
• Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
• Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
• Willingness to travel
• Pass the required drug screen and background check (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Possess 3 years of IT related work experience
• Prior customer service experience
• Knowledge of programming languages and SQL
