Job summary
Health & Human Services Comm in Austin, TX, is seeking an IT System Support Specialist III to provide expert hardware and software support for the DDS unit. You will help 1,000+ DDS staff, install and maintain PCs, manage user profiles, and generate complex reports for leadership.
The role requires strong troubleshooting, documentation, and training abilities. Onsite, day shifts with potential weekend hours.
Qualifications
- 1 year of experience in computer systems support or similar IT role.
- Graduated high school or equivalent; additional computer courses preferred.
- Experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Proven ability to use Windows OS and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work onsite in a fast-paced government office environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide hardware and software support to DDS users by phone and in person.
- Install and repair IBM PC/Compatible systems and approved software.
- Create and maintain user profiles and database tables.
- Prepare complex database reports for management.
- Train staff and write user documentation; mentor junior staff.
- Assist with LAN administration and backup duties as needed.
