Job summary

HL-GA Battery Company is seeking an IT Systems Sr. Engineer to lead the delivery, maintenance, and continuous improvement of manufacturing IT systems in a high-volume production environment.

You will drive MES, MCS, RMS, EMS, FDC, and QMS initiatives while coordinating with global HQ to align IT strategy with plant operations. You will manage projects, define system requirements, and ensure on-time delivery within budget.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT systems within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience with manufacturing systems such as MES, MCS, RMS, EMS, FDC, or QMS.

Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery and implementation of manufacturing IT systems, including project planning, requirement definition, and execution.
  • Define system requirements and drive alignment between plant operations and HQ development teams.
  • Develop and manage IT project plans, ensuring delivery within scope, timeline, and budget.
  • Support IT budget planning, vendor management, and contract administration.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for system performance, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex system issues, coordinating cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Drive incident management processes, including root cause analysis and long-term corrective actions.
  • Ensure system changes align with business needs, operational processes, and corporate IT standards.
  • Monitor and maintain system performance, ensuring adherence to SLAs.
  • Identify and implement system improvements to enhance operational efficiency and production performance.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to support system integration and operational needs.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members and cross-functional partners.
  • Maintain and improve system documentation, processes, and governance standards.
  • Ensure compliance with company IT policies, cybersecurity standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate regularly with HQ teams in Korea to align system strategy, resolve issues, and support implementation efforts.
  • Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards

Summary

The IT Systems Sr. Engineer is responsible for leading the delivery, maintenance, and continuous improvement of manufacturing IT systems within a high-volume production environment. This role serves as a technical lead for plant systems, ensuring performance, reliability, and alignment with business and operational goals.


The position partners closely with internal teams and global headquarters to drive system enhancements, resolve complex issues, and support strategic IT initiatives across systems such as MES (Manufacturing Execution System), MCS (Material Control System), RMS (Recipe Management System), EMS (Equipment Management System), FDC (Fault Detection and Classification), and QMS (Quality Management System).


Responsibilities


  • Lead delivery and implementation of manufacturing IT systems, including project planning, requirement definition, and execution

  • Define system requirements and drive alignment between plant operations and HQ development teams

  • Develop and manage IT project plans, ensuring delivery within scope, timeline, and budget

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required


Experience


  • 5+ years of experience in IT systems within a manufacturing or industrial environment

  • Experience leading IT system delivery, implementation, and maintenance activities

  • Experience supporting manufacturing systems such as MES, MCS, RMS, EMS, FDC, or QMS

  • Experience managing end-to-end IT services delivery and operations

  • Experience working with global teams and cross-functional stakeholders

  • Experience with system integration, application support, or industrial IT environments preferred


Work Authorization


  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Korean required to support communication with HQ and global engineering teams

  • Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to lead issue resolution and manage complex system challenges

  • Experience with project management and system implementation processes

  • Understanding of system architecture, integration, and data flow within manufacturing environments

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and technical documentation


Physical Requirements


  • Ability to sit or remain stationary for extended periods while working at a computer

  • Ability to use hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, and office equipment

  • Ability to occasionally stand, walk, and move between office and production areas

  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, and move typical IT equipment or materials (e.g., laptops, monitors, small devices)

  • Ability to perform basic physical activities such as bending, reaching, and accessing equipment in office or light industrial environments

  • Office and manufacturing plant environment with regular interaction on the production floor

  • Frequent use of computer systems and manufacturing IT platforms

  • Collaboration with global teams across different time zones

  • May require flexibility in working hours to support production operations and coordination with HQ
