Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an IT Systems Manager to support a long-term federal project with the Department of Energy and National Nuclear Security Administration through on-site work in Washington, DC. This is both a hands-on and managerial position in which the IT Systems Manager will help lead a 12 person team as they maintain and evolve the IT systems for the DOE.

Responsibilities for the IT Systems Manager include:

• Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations for the IT Systems support team by managing the systems directly, providing leadership and training, and implementing improvements for reliability and efficiency.

• Assist with schedule creation, hiring of employees, performance reviews, maintenance of accounts, and ensuring policies and procedures are met.

• Act as senior Systems Specialist assisting with system and server troubleshooting, VMware deployments, storage and backup solutions, database and cloud platform management, and networking support.

Required Qualifications for the IT Systems Manager include:

• 10+ years of experience with Information Technology focusing on Systems Administration

• Experience acting as a team lead

• Experience with the following technical concepts

○ Virtualization (Vmware, Hyper-V)

○ Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, Gooogle)

○ Database Management Systems (SQL, MySQL PostgreSQL)

○ Experience with SAN, NAS, backup, disaster/recovery solutions

• Active Top Secret or Q Clearance (Ability to obtain Q Clearance within 6 months of employment)

Compensation for the IT Systems Manager include:

• Salary Range: $130,000-165,000 **depending on experience**

• Full Standard Benefits: PTO, Paid Holidays, Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, sick leave as required by law.
