Job summary

Statusphere, Inc. is seeking its first dedicated IT hire to build scalable, secure systems for a distributed team. You’ll own device management, IAM, automation, policies, and onboarding, reporting to Engineering leadership and partnering with HR, Finance, and Operations.

This role requires hands-on experience, startup sensibility, and a knack for turning ad-hoc work into repeatable processes. You'll drive IT security, vendor management, and an evolving roadmap as Statusphere scales.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in IT support or systems administration.
• Sole or lead IT person building IT processes from the ground up.
• Hands-on with an MDM platform (Iru/Kandji, Jamf, Intune, or similar).
• Strong Google Workspace administration skills.
• Experience with SSO, MFA, and identity management tools.
• Comfort supporting both macOS and Windows.
• Experience writing and implementing IT policies (device, access, acceptable use).
• A documentation-first habit: you write things down so others can follow them.
• Scripting or automation experience (Bash, PowerShell, Python, or low-code tools like n8n or Zapier).
• Clear, friendly communication with non-technical coworkers.

Responsibilities

• IT & Technical Support: Provide day-to-day IT support, troubleshoot hardware/software/account issues, and scale with a knowledge-base.
• IT strategy and roadmap: Develop a 6–12 month IT roadmap and manage tooling and budget with Engineering leadership and COO/CFO.
• Device management (MDM): Manage MDM platform, enrollment, configuration, patching, app deployment, and device baseline.
• Identity and access management: Administer SSO, MFA, and password manager; perform access reviews.
• Automation and policy: Identify repetitive work and automate with tools like n8n and Google Workspace tooling; draft IT policies.
• Security awareness: Run phishing and security training with KnowBe4; enforce IT policies.
• Incident response: Act as first responder for endpoint or account incidents; document and quarantine.
• Documentation: Build runbooks, knowledge base, and SOPs for IT processes.
• Onboarding/offboarding: Manage laptop provisioning and access revocation for employees/contractors.
• Remote logistics: Coordinate shipping, setup, and returns for distributed team.
• Asset and license management: Maintain hardware inventory and SaaS licenses; report savings.
• Data protection: Enforce device encryption and data retention in Google Workspace; recovery plans.
• Vendor management: Manage IT vendors and evaluate new tools with leadership approval.
• Engineering enablement: Support engineers with tools access and secure setup for US/international team.
• Cross-functional partnership: Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Operations; ensure IT controls and SOC 2 readiness not owned by this role.
• Other duties as assigned.
