Job summary

Corning Inc. is seeking an IT Systems Technical Leader to support and improve critical infrastructure at our Harrodsburg manufacturing site. The role offers hands-on leadership, aligning IT with site needs, solving technical issues, and mentoring other team members.

In this position you’ll oversee servers, networks, and manufacturing systems, drive uptime, coordinate with vendors, and lead projects from planning to implementation. On-site work in Harrodsburg, KY is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
5+ years of IT infrastructure or systems support experience.
Knowledge of servers, storage, networking, end-user devices, and backup/disaster recovery.
Ability to take technical ownership and mentor others.
Familiarity with IT project management principles and tools.
Manufacturing IT or MES experience.
Working knowledge of Oracle-based systems.
Strong troubleshooting and prioritization skills.
Basic cybersecurity knowledge.
On-site role in Harrodsburg, Kentucky.
Limited domestic travel to other U.S. Corning manufacturing sites.
Occasional short-term international travel.

Responsibilities

Support and improve site IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, printers, and handheld devices.
Ensure manufacturing systems are stable, secure, and efficient.
Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and drive uptime improvements.
Support backup, recovery, and on-site data center operations.
Lead infrastructure projects from planning through implementation.
Partner with internal teams and external vendors to deliver solutions.
Serve as escalation point for technical issues and mentor junior team members.
Assist with data integration and reporting across manufacturing systems.
