Job summary

ABC Supply Co. Inc. seeks a Microsoft 365-focused Systems Engineer for our Beloit location to administer, secure, and optimize the Microsoft 365 platform and related cloud services for 1,000+ locations and facilities.

You will work with IT Infrastructure, Security and Operations teams to implement governance, automation, and reliable service delivery within Entra ID, Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online and OneDrive.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of relevant experience or a bachelor’s degree.
• Microsoft 365, Azure, collaboration, messaging, or security certifications preferred.
• Mature technical skills in Microsoft 365 and related infrastructure services.
• Ability to work independently and communicate with stakeholders.
• Willing to travel if needed and to work after-hours as required.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Microsoft 365 core platform services.
• Monitor service health and communicate impact to appropriate teams.
• Manage mail flow, mailbox configuration, and groups.
• Support Teams collaboration, policy, and lifecycle governance.
• Administer Entra ID, permissions, and tenant settings.
• Partner with Security/Compliance on governance and data protection.
• Use PowerShell and Graph PowerShell to automate tasks.
• Provide advanced-level support to IT Service Desk and other teams.

ABC Supply Company is currently looking for a Microsoft 365-focused Systems Engineer for our National Support Center in Beloit. This position will support and continuously improve the Microsoft 365 platform and related cloud services that enable secure communication, collaboration, administration, governance, and productivity for over 1,000 remote locations as well as the ABC Supply facilities in Beloit, WI.

Summary

This role will work with IT Infrastructure, Security, Service Desk, Operations, and business teams to administer, secure, and improve Microsoft 365 services that support ABC Supply Co., Inc. This position reports to the Server & Data Center Manager.

Requirements

• Mature technical skills and ability to carry out complex assignments across Microsoft 365 and related infrastructure services
• Operates independently while collaborating closely with Infrastructure, Security, Service Desk, Operations, and business stakeholders
• Broad business process knowledge with the ability to translate operational needs into secure and supportable Microsoft 365 solutions
• Takes initiative and contributes to improving systems, standards, governance, automation, and user experience
• Focus 20% on tickets, 60% on projects, and 20% on Microsoft 365 platform architecture, governance, and continuous improvement
• Experience administering Microsoft 365 platform services including Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Purview, and Defender
• Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 administration, service configuration, tenant governance, licensing, access models, and secure platform operations
• Communication skills to explain technical information effectively and in appropriate forms to customers, stakeholders, management, and technical staff
• Advanced troubleshooting skills for Microsoft 365 services, mail flow, Teams collaboration, SharePoint and OneDrive access, and tenant configuration issues
• Ability to use PowerShell, Microsoft Graph PowerShell, and administrative portals to manage services and automate repeatable tasks
• Willing to work after-hours as needed
• Participate in on-call rotation
• Willing to travel if the business needs require it
• 6+ years of relevant experience and/or bachelor’s degree; Microsoft 365, Azure, collaboration, messaging, or security certifications preferred

Primary Job Responsibilities Include The Following

Secondary job responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

• Administer and support Microsoft 365 core platform services including Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Purview, and Defender
• Monitor Microsoft 365 service health, message center updates, alerts, and platform changes; communicate impact and recommended actions to appropriate teams
• Manage and improve mail flow, mailbox configuration, shared mailboxes, distribution groups, Microsoft 365 Groups, transport rules, retention settings, and related messaging controls
• Support Teams collaboration, meeting, policy, application, external access, and lifecycle governance standards
• Administer SharePoint Online and OneDrive governance, permissions, sharing controls, site lifecycle, storage, and collaboration standards
• Administer Microsoft Entra ID as a core Microsoft 365 platform service, including tenant settings, groups, roles, application integrations, and access-related service configuration
• Support Microsoft 365 platform standards, lifecycle governance, administrative consistency, and service adoption across Entra ID, Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and OneDrive
• Partner with Security and Compliance teams on Microsoft Purview, Defender, audit logging, data protection, retention, eDiscovery support, and secure configuration standards
• Utilize PowerShell and Microsoft Graph PowerShell to administer Microsoft 365 services, automate recurring tasks, perform reporting, and support operational consistency
• Provide advanced-level support to IT Service Desk, Operations, Application Support, Security, and Infrastructure teams
• Participate in change management, incident response, root cause analysis, documentation, standards development, and continuous improvement efforts for Microsoft 365 services
