Job summary

Averro is seeking a Data Center & Infrastructure Engineer to own and operate a private data center across nine sites in Bellevue, WA. You will deploy VMware environments, manage HPE hardware lifecycles, and coordinate storage, backups, and power systems.

The role requires strong hands-on experience with DCIM, ITIL change management, and scripting (Ansible, PowerShell, Bash). On-site work is expected, with comprehensive benefits and a veteran‑owned staffing partner backing your career.

Qualifications

• BS/BA or equivalent with 6+ years in data center or enterprise infrastructure.
• Proficiency in VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter and HPE hardware.
• Experience with SAN/NAS, iSCSI, NFS, FC, and enterprise backup solutions.
• Ability to lift/rack equipment up to 50 lbs and work across multiple sites.
• Familiar with ITIL change processes and scripting (Ansible, PowerShell, Bash).

Job Title: Data Center & Infrastructure Engineer Location: Bellevue, WA | Onsite Employment Type: Contract Benefits: Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance, 401k, sick leave, and employee assistance program. Depending on your package selection, Averro offers PTO, paid holidays, and legal insurance.

Role & Responsibilities

• Own and operate a private data center and nine-site MDF/IDF infrastructure, including rack management, cabling, and capacity planning.
• Deploy and maintain VMware vSphere/ESXi and vCenter environments; manage HPE server hardware lifecycle including firmware updates and decommissioning.
• Monitor and manage UPS systems, PDUs, and environmental conditions; respond to power alarms and coordinate preventive maintenance across all sites.
• Administer SAN/NAS/cloud storage; manage enterprise backup jobs, replication, and validate recovery against RTO/RPO objectives.
• Support change management, maintain IT runbooks and asset inventories, and participate in on-call rotation for infrastructure emergencies.

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) or equivalent work experience; 6+ years of hands‑on data center or enterprise infrastructure experience, ideally managing 15+ racks.
• Proficiency in VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter, HPE hardware, SAN/NAS (iSCSI, NFS, FC), enterprise backup solutions, and APC UPS/PDU power management; ability to lift/rack equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Experience with DCIM/environmental monitoring tools, ITIL change management, scripting/automation (Ansible, PowerShell, Bash), and multi-site infrastructure environments.
