Job summary

San Diego Unified School District seeks a Systems Development Coordinator to coordinate system development techniques for the Information Technology Department in San Diego, CA. The role includes guiding staff, training project managers, and assisting in long-range planning.

Qualifications

  • Combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to graduation from a recognized college or university with a major in information systems or related field.
  • Five years of progressively responsible experience in systems development and programming.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate system development techniques for the Information Technology Department.
  • Instruct project managers and technical staff in the application of system development methodology.
  • Assist technical staff in solving systems and programming problems; help develop long-range plans for the division.
  • Evaluate and negotiate with vendors for software packages; conduct training classes in new systems.
  • Guide staff in initial program development using new tools and techniques.
  • Develop and coordinate disaster recovery plans for the Information Technology Department.
