Job summary

MIT Lincoln Laboratory's Group 39 seeks a co-op to provide complete IT hardware/software support for 70+ users in Lexington, MA. The role emphasizes OS installations, troubleshooting, and sustaining Windows, Linux, and macOS environments.

You will help configure LAN access, assist staff with day-to-day IT issues, and contribute to IT infrastructure projects. Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited CS/CE/Networking/IT program with virtualization and basic networking knowledge.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in accredited CS/CE/Networking/IT degree program.
• Knowledge of Windows 11, Windows Server, Mac OS X, and Linux.
• Understanding of virtualization concepts and basic hypervisor experience.
• Familiarity with Microsoft applications and basic networking.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete OS installations and troubleshooting for Windows 11, Windows Server, and Linux (Red Hat and Ubuntu).
• Configure and maintain network infrastructure within the LAN between Windows and UNIX/Linux and remote connections.
• Assist staff with hardware, software and network issues on- and off-site.
• Identify vulnerabilities across IT assets and apply patching/remediation fixes.
• Assist in developing IT infrastructure and work on projects to improve IT effectiveness.
