Job summary

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission in Rockville, Maryland seeks an IT Specialist (SYSANALYSIS) to perform the full spectrum of IT consulting, analysis, planning, development, integration, and maintenance within the agency’s enterprise IT environment.

The successful candidate will oversee IT infrastructure projects, develop standards, coordinate contractor support, and maintain project plans with changing priorities. Telework eligibility and robust federal benefits are provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultation, analysis, planning, development, integration, and maintenance of desktop, server, network, and application systems within the agency's enterprise IT environment.
• Oversee IT infrastructure projects, including development of technical standards, configurations, and integration requirements, and coordinate contractor support.
• Develop and maintain project plans and schedules for IT infrastructure initiatives; prioritize tasks; adjust timelines in response to new requirements or changing priorities.
• Support the release management process by maintaining a 12-month upgrade forecast, coordinating office requirements, validating new software components, and preparing automated desktop upgrades.
• Provide program input for IT strategic planning and budgeting to support enterprise-level technology initiatives.
• Manage task orders and Blanket Purchase Agreement calls; oversee operations and maintenance of IT infrastructure projects; ensure compliance with cost, schedule, and performance requirements.
• Submit IT system and infrastructure change requests; prepare impact assessments; support coordination and testing through the Change Control Board.
• Establish points of contact with other government agencies, private industry, academic institutions, and consulting firms to support information exchange and best-practice adoption.
