Job summary

Child and Family Services, Inc. is seeking an IT Systems Analyst in New Bedford, MA to research, develop, implement, and maintain software, systems, and network configurations.

You will respond to escalated help desk requests, troubleshoot, and support on-going IT projects while ensuring backups, patches, and security updates are applied. The role includes on-call duties with reporting to the Director of IT and adherence to HIPAA and CFR guidelines.

Qualifications

  • BA in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline preferred; high school diploma required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in IT support, infrastructure, or security analyst roles.
  • Experience administering server-side technology and networked computing systems.
  • Strong understanding of WAN/LAN topologies.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to prioritize workloads with deadlines.
  • Knowledge of system security (e.g., intrusion detection) and data backup/recovery.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux/Unix environments; HIPAA requirements knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems.
  • Troubleshoot issues and outages related to system availability for employees.
  • Install and upgrade components, manage virtual servers, and automate processes.
  • Diagnose hardware/software errors, document problems and resolutions.
  • Provide documentation and specs for planning new or upgraded IT infra.
  • Respond to security or usability concerns and escalate as needed.
  • Occasional help desk coverage and lead desktop/helpdesk support efforts.
  • Work with Director of IT to complete projects and assignments.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR for system deployment and upkeep.

Job Summary

The IT Systems Analyst will be responsible for researching, developing, implementing, and maintaining software, systems, applications, security, and network configurations. This individual will respond to escalated requests from help desk, troubleshoot, and provide technical support and guidance to users, as well as assist in the completion of on‑going IT projects. The IT Systems Analyst will aid in the support for system backups and recovery, install patches, updates, and upgrades. The position will perform on‑call duties on a recurring basis as part of the operations team and reports directly to the Director of IT.

Job Responsibilities & Essential Functions
  • Maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems
  • Troubleshoot issues and outages related to system availability for employees
  • Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes
  • Diagnose hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact
  • Provide documentation and technical specifications for planning and implementing new or upgraded IT infrastructure
  • Resolve hardware, software, networking, and system issues when they arise
  • Improve skills according to industry demands and best practices
  • Respond immediately to security or usability concerns and elevate as needed
  • Occasional help desk coverage and lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts
  • Work with Director of IT to complete projects and assignments
  • Ensure all work is within HIPAA and 42CFR guidelines for system deployment and upkeep
  • Participate in on-call coverage rotation
  • Work with established vendor to diagnose and resolve product or contractual issues
  • Install and test computer-related equipment
  • Sustain network integrity
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • BA in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline preferred; high school diploma required
  • At least 3 years of experience in IT support, infrastructure, or security analyst roles
  • Experience administering server-side technology and networked computing systems
  • Strong understanding of WAN/LAN topologies
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize a wide range of workloads with critical deadlines
  • Project management, organizational and planning skills
  • Previous experience in help desk environments
  • Knowledge of system security (e.g., intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
  • Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing systems and technologies
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft server operating systems
  • Extensive knowledge in group policy management
  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix systems a plus
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA requirements
  • Firm understanding or practice in cloud computing and hosting

Travel Required

Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation that meets CFS Driver Policy. Travel is required to provide services in different settings and to attend agency meetings, events, and trainings.
