Job summary

ENGIE North America is seeking an IT/OT professional to maintain the SCADA/GMS environment in a hybrid work setting in Houston. You will support both IT and OT systems, ensure NERC CIP compliance, and participate in disaster recovery planning.

The role requires a 5+ year track record in IT/OT application support, strong fundamentals in C, C#, Java, VB .Net and SQL, plus experience with VMware/Nutanix and hyperconverged infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or IT or a technical degree.
  • Minimum 5 years’ IT/OT application support and development experience.
  • Knowledge of NERC CIP requirements.
  • Proficiency in C, C#, Java, Visual Basic, .Net and SQL; strong Office skills.
  • Experience with virtualization and hyperconverged infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the SCADA/GMS environment and ensure NERC CIP compliance.
  • Support IT and OT systems in virtual environments.
  • Architect, configure, manage and troubleshoot infrastructure and applications.
  • Install software releases, research and test new technologies.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
  • Coordinate with IT, vendors and users during outages or emergencies.
  • Plan capacity for IT infrastructure including Nutanix and networks.

Job description

What You Can Expect

Maintain the SCADA/GMS environment as well as compliance with NERC/CIP program and architecture of the Generation Control Center (GCC) in Houston as a Medium or High impact facility and maintain compliance with the latest NERC CIP requirements. Provide support for Virtual environments supporting IT and OT systems.

  • Performs advanced focused architecting, optimizing, implementing, configuring, managing, administering, troubleshooting, maintaining and monitoring one or more of the following: infrastructure software, hardware, systems/applications, middleware, servers/storage, and IP-based telecommunications
  • Follow implemented IT policies, governance, standards, and security
  • Installs new specific software releases and/or upgrades including researching, testing and implementing new technology
  • Participates in disaster recovery planning and testing, including fault tolerance and detailed disaster recovery plan maintenance.
  • Communicates and interfaces with members of the IT, vendor and user communities. Outage or an emergency.
  • Perform capacity planning for IT Infrastructure including Nutanix platform and communications, ensuring robust redundancy.
  • Experience with Hyperconverged Technologies, private and public cloud.
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Information Technology or Technical degree.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in IT/OT application support and development with some IT experience.
  • General understanding of the NERC CIP requirements and prior program implementation experience.
  • Commonly used programming technologies such as C, C#, Java, Visual Basic, .Net and SQL. Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of infrastructure technologies; application and/or operating systems, documenting and maintaining complex application and process or configuration information
  • Providing day-to-day system/application administration and/or system/application administration in support in a variety of work environments; installing and maintaining applications, operating systems, or equipment
  • Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and to implement solutions
  • Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new concepts.
  • Knowledge of Patch Management, Security Monitoring tools, Anti-Virus, Incident Response, Backup and Recovery Operations; e and familiarity with networking and SIEM tools; VMWARE/NUTANIX technologies and Hyperconverged networks; NERC/CIP Standards and requirements and how to ensure compliance.
