Job summary

Hastings College is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to provide comprehensive technical support and manage the college's IT infrastructure, ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient operation for students, faculty, and staff.

This full-time on-site role administers Windows Server and Hyper-V, Active Directory, network gear, and security measures, performs backups and disaster recovery testing, and documents all procedures while collaborating with campus IT colleagues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or equivalent experience in lieu of education.
• Three to five years of demonstrated experience in systems administration, network administration.
• Proficiency with Windows Server operating systems and Hyper-V virtualization, especially within a hyperconverged environment.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace) and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage Windows Server and Hyper-V Infrastructure: Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Windows Server environments, with a primary focus on Hyper-V hyperconverged infrastructure and virtual machine optimization for high availability and performance.
