Job summary

Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to ensure smooth operation of the agency’s IT infrastructure, with emphasis on CAD/RMS and overall system availability. Responsibilities include server administration, security controls, backups, and vendor coordination alongside the Network Administrator as needed.

The role requires managing Windows/Linux servers, performing upgrades, and providing user support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and applicable specialized work experience.
• Associate’s degree requires 3 years of specialized experience; Bachelor’s 2 years; Master’s 1 year.
• Specialized work experience includes server administration, CAD/RMS support, virtualization, and basic network/cybersecurity.
• Industry certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Network+, Security+ or equivalent are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain physical and virtual servers and supporting infrastructure.
• Administer CAD/RMS, coordinate software releases, patches, upgrades, testing, deployments, and change management.
• Coordinate with vendors and developers to troubleshoot and resolve software defects and system issues.
• Monitor performance, perform backups/recoveries, implement security controls, manage user accounts/permissions, assist with basic network administration.
• Provide user support and maintain system documentation; participate in IT initiatives and emergencies.
