Job summary

Sertoma Star Services is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to manage daily administration, support, and optimization of our technology systems. Your Role

As the IT Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the daily administration, support, maintenance, and optimization of Sertoma Star Services’ technology systems. You will serve as the primary internal resource for business applications, user support, system administration, vendor coordination, and technology-related troubleshooting.

Sertoma Star Services is implementing a three- to five-year technology roadmap focused on replacing and modernizing core business systems, introducing new technologies, and increasing system integrations. In this role, you will partner with leadership and departmental stakeholders to support these initiatives, implement technology solutions, and respond to the organization’s evolving operational needs.

This position is ideal for someone who is adaptable, enjoys learning new technology, and can independently manage system administration responsibilities while supporting large-scale technology projects.

Responsibilities
Systems Administration and Support

Administer, maintain, support, and optimize the organization’s business applications and technology systems.

Manage user accounts, security roles, permissions, access levels, and system configurations.

Troubleshoot system and application issues and provide timely technical support to employees.

Monitor system performance, reliability, security, and availability.

Identify and recommend opportunities to improve system efficiency, functionality, and the overall user experience.

Support cloud-based business applications, including HRIS, payroll, case-management, Microsoft 365, ERP, CRM, and similar platforms.

Assist with maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and security of organizational data.

Systems Integration and Technology Implementation

Support and maintain integrations between business applications to promote accurate and reliable data flow.

Troubleshoot integration issues and coordinate with software vendors and technology partners to resolve technical problems.

Configure and build system functionality, workflows, automations, reports, and integrations using available platform tools.

Use APIs and low-code or no-code technologies to improve workflows and system functionality when appropriate.

Lead assigned technical workstreams and daily implementation activities related to system upgrades and new technology solutions.

Coordinate system testing, user-acceptance testing, data validation, configuration, and issue resolution.

Support data migration, data cleanup, system configuration, and implementation activities.

Participate in system evaluations, software upgrades, and future technology implementations.

Vendor and Project Coordination

Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for software vendors and technology partners.

Submit, coordinate, and monitor vendor support requests through resolution.

Maintain documentation regarding open system issues, vendor responses, and resolution timelines.

Support technology implementation projects and other organization-wide technology initiatives.

Assist with project planning, status reporting, testing, implementation, and post-launch support.

Participate in vendor demonstrations, software evaluations, and technology-selection activities.

Communicate project updates, risks, system issues, and recommended solutions to leadership and key stakeholders.

Documentation and Process Improvement

Create and maintain documentation for systems, configurations, integrations, security settings, procedures, and user guides.

Develop and maintain technology standards, operating procedures, and system-administration practices.

Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, automate manual processes, and increase operational efficiency.

Assist with technology-related compliance reviews, audits, data-integrity initiatives, and corrective actions.

Maintain accurate inventories of supported applications, integrations, licenses, vendors, and system access.

Develop training materials and procedural resources to support system adoption and consistent use.

Collaboration and Training

Partner with leadership and departmental stakeholders to understand operational needs and recommend appropriate technology solutions.

Provide end-user training and ongoing support for new systems, system enhancements, and updated processes.

Translate business needs into system requirements and technical solutions.

Collaborate with internal departments to promote consistent system practices and effective technology use.

Stay informed about emerging technologies, industry developments, and system-administration best practices.

Recommend technology improvements that support organizational goals and the agency’s long-term technology roadmap.

Attend all agency-mandated training within the required timeframes.

Maintain compliance with applicable licensing, funding, accreditation, safety, privacy, and state and federal regulatory requirements, as well as agency policies and procedures.

Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Information Systems, or a related field required. An equivalent combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and professional experience may be considered.

At least three years of experience administering business systems, cloud-based platforms, or enterprise software applications.

Experience supporting business applications such as HRIS, payroll, case-management, Microsoft 365, ERP, CRM, or similar platforms.

Experience managing user accounts, system permissions, security groups, access levels, and application configurations.

Experience working with third-party software vendors and technology partners to resolve technical issues.

Strong technical troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to evaluate business needs and recommend practical technology solutions.

Strong organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and customer-service skills.

Ability to communicate technical information clearly to employees with varying levels of technical knowledge.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with leadership, vendors, and cross-functional teams.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive organizational and employee information.

Valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and an acceptable motor vehicle record required.

Ability and willingness to travel between Sertoma Star Services locations as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting software implementations, system conversions, or major system upgrades.

Experience working with system integrations, APIs, data imports and exports, or middleware solutions.

Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, Power Automate, Power BI, SQL, reporting tools, or other workflow-automation technologies.

Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, human services, nonprofit services, or another highly regulated environment.

Experience participating in technology planning, vendor selection, process improvement, or technology projects.

Relevant professional certification, such as Microsoft, CompTIA, ITIL, or a comparable credential.
