Summary

The IT System Manager oversees and optimizes company-wide business and production-critical application systems to ensure business continuity and operational efficiency across manufacturing facilities. This role is responsible for the stable operation of mission-critical systems including ERP, MES, MCS, and WMS. The position focuses on resolving day-to-day business issues on the shop floor and driving system and process improvement activities to maximize productivity, while collaborating closely with the IT Security team to maintain a secure infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations and troubleshoot issues for core manufacturing systems, including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Material Control System (MCS), and Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Rapidly resolve business logic errors, data discrepancies, and system process issues raised by production and business units
  • Monitor and maintain data integrity across system interfaces (APIs, EAI, data transfers) to prevent operational bottlenecks
  • Analyze user requirements from the manufacturing front lines to design, modify, and implement system enhancements
  • Lead enhancement projects for legacy systems and manage the introduction of new smart factory modules or digital solutions to streamline workflows
  • Establish user guidelines and conduct training sessions for business users regarding system changes and new features
  • Apply and maintain firewall, VPN, and factory network security configurations in alignment with guidelines established by the IT Security team
  • Support the deployment and integration of security solutions (DLP, DRM, and similar) to protect core manufacturing technologies and intellectual property
  • Provide technical infrastructure support and execute remediation tasks during security vulnerability assessments and audits led by the IT Security team
  • Ensure 24/7 availability of the underlying infrastructure supporting the applications, including servers (on-premise and cloud), databases, and network environments
  • Oversee backup strategies and Disaster Recovery (DR) scenarios to minimize manufacturing downtime
  • Manage contracts, SLAs, and technical collaborations with external IT partners, vendors, and SI/SM developers
  • Maintain confidentiality of company, production, and business system information at all times
  • Maintain regular and reliable on-site attendance
  • Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain; Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container)
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field required

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in IT system operation and business systems support required
  • Proven experience operating and improving manufacturing applications such as ERP, MES, MCS, and WMS required
  • Deep understanding of Enterprise Architecture (EA) and end-to-end data pipelines within a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Strong knowledge of IT service management (ITSM) frameworks, system governance, and application lifecycle management preferred
  • Experience managing external IT vendors, contracts, and service level agreements preferred
  • Demonstrated reliable work history and consistent attendance in prior employment

  • Ability to translate manufacturing user requirements into system solutions
  • Ability to develop user guidelines and deliver training to business users
  • Korean and English bilingual proficiency required to coordinate directly with headquarters in Korea, including technical documentation review and system requirement discussions
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours as needed to support production operations and coordinate with headquarters in Korea

Physical Requirements

  • Sit and work at a computer for prolonged periods
  • Use hands and fingers to operate computers, servers, network equipment, and office equipment
  • Occasionally stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout office, server room, and production areas
  • Occasionally lift, carry, or move IT equipment and materials up to 25 pounds
  • Travel between company facilities as needed to support system operations
  • Primarily office-based environment within a manufacturing facility, including server rooms and IT infrastructure areas
  • Regular interaction with production teams, business units, executive leadership, external vendors, and headquarters personnel
  • Occasional exposure to manufacturing and production areas requiring adherence to company safety policies and PPE requirements
  • Regular exposure to confidential business, production, and intellectual property information requiring a high level of discretion
  • Fast-paced environment requiring timely response to system issues, production disruptions, and project deadlines
  • This position supports essential manufacturing systems operations. The role requires availability to support 24/7 system availability, and may require support during off-hours, weekends, shutdowns, or system emergencies to maintain production continuity and coordinate with headquarters.
