The Department of Labor & Industries (L&I), an employer of choice, is announcing an exciting opportunity to join our team as IT System Administrator - Senior Specialist!

About The Division And Unit

The Information Technology (IT) Division is an internal service organization responsible for providing information technology products and services in support of the Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) agency’s business priorities so that L&I can keep Washington Safe and Working.

Within the IT Division’s Maintenance and Operations (M&O) program, the Enterprise Services (ES) program is responsible for the delivery of all IT services to L&I, other state agencies and the public, by providing value through partnership and commitment. The ES program safeguards the health of our computing environments and manages the growth needs of the agency’s information and technology assets. The ES program is comprised of three units (Network Infrastructure & Operation (NetOps), Application Infrastructure Support unit, and the IT Support Unit).

The NetOps unit is responsible for ensuring the L&I network, servers, storage and backups, cloud, virtual, and physical are always available and run at their highest efficiency.

About The Role

As an IT System Administrator – Senior Specialist, you’ll join a team of System Administrators responsible for the servers and infrastructure that power L&I around the clock. When other staff hit a wall on a complex or high-priority issue, you’re the one who solves it. You’ll also coordinate with facilities staff, regional office managers, and IT support teams to keep deployments running smoothly with minimal disruption to business.

Working independently and with full authority in your area of responsibility, you’ll design, build, test, and deploy servers across L&I’s field offices, the state data center, and the cloud — managing the infrastructure that ties the whole agency together.
