Web Solutions administers domain names and deliver hosting services on behalf of clients worldwide. We are seeking a Junior System Administrator in Memphis.

You will be working in a team with configuration, operation, maintenance and development of our network, servers and operating systems. You will be part of a team that values practical results and collaborative problem solving, including interaction with colleagues from another country.

Qualifications

• University IT education or technical diploma with solid experience.
• Basic experience installing and maintaining server infrastructure.
• Familiarity with monitoring and responding to service issues.
• Knowledge of Linux/Windows server environments and virtualization.

Responsibilities

• Implementation of new and upgrading of existing server solutions.
• Monitoring and responding to service breakdowns and other problems.
• Advice and support for users and colleagues.
• Ongoing contact with system managers in the organization.
• Contact with suppliers and business partners.

Web Solutions administers domain names and deliver hosting services on behalf of clients worldwide. We are seeking a Junior System Administrator.
You will be working in a team with configuration, operation, maintenance and development of our network, servers and operating systems.
The position is ideal for a person who enjoy working independently overall, although on some projects in co-operation with the rest of the team. You enjoy the theoretical side of system administration, identifying, creating and planning projects, but just as importantly you have a practical mind that value producing results within given deadlines.
You are also generally interested in the prospect of working with colleagues from another country.
You have recently finished, or are still studying at a University level IT education. Alternatively you hold a technical diploma combined with a solid experience background.
We expect that you can demonstrate basic experience with installing and maintaining server infrastructure. As well as monitoring and responding to service breakdowns and other problems.
The Ideal Candidate Will Further Have

• Overall knowledge of computer hardware and understanding of protocols and network services (DNS, mail, VPN, SQL, SSL)
• Some experience with Linux (any distro) including services like Apache, Nginx, PowerDNS, MySql, Postfix
• Knowledge of desktops and basic skills with of Microsoft server systems
• Basic knowledge in virtualization (VMware)
• Good English skills
