Job summary

Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools is seeking an IT Support Assistant to deliver responsive, high‑quality technical support and ensure seamless technology operations across district and school sites, under the Information Technology Department. The role emphasizes resolving tickets within SLAs, maintaining asset inventories, assisting with hardware and software upgrades, and supporting classroom AV setups.

Strong customer service and basic IT knowledge are preferred; valid NC driver's license

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required.
Valid NC Driver's License.
Previous experience in customer service or computer support preferred.
Knowledge of Windows, Apple, and Google ecosystems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Follows established procedures for processing IT support requests, documents progress, and closes tickets within SLAs.
Maintains inventory of physical assets and a parts inventory.
Delivers and picks up equipment for repair at vendor sites.
Assists with installation of hardware and software, including peripherals and network connections for internet access.
Participates in hardware and software upgrades and help desk support.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Complies with all school policies and procedures.
