JOB SUMMARY
Provides technical support to end-users for PC, server, hardware, or software applications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interact with supplier/service providers to ensure tasks are completed.
- Monitor asset inventory.
- Verify backups, daily checklists, and account maintenance.
- Administer tape rotation and backup tapes.
- Serve as the point of technical escalation.
- Perform periodic license audits.
- Create and configure ghost images for site hardware.
- Create and image MES and SAP RF Scanners.
- Maintain and troubleshoot site PBX.
- Provide on-call support.
- Identify and purchase hardware using the CER Process.
- Administer network hardware (enabling/disabling ports).
- Manage file services, print services, and terminal servers.
- Document new processes.
- Support wireless devices (e.g., BlackBerry).
- Follow all procedures related to ISS security policy.
- Provide end-user training and technical assistance.
- Assist administrators in rotational duties across various administration competencies:
- Network Administration
- Systems Administration
- Business Systems Administration
- Database Administration
- Load and verify correct operation of software packages.
- Troubleshoot and resolve end-user problems.
- Simulate or recreate user problems for troubleshooting.
- Maintain inventory of computer parts and record all repairs/services.
- Provide training and technical support to users.
- Participate in departmental knowledge exchange.
- Encourage team input and questions.
- Provide regular updates to managers.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities through process improvements.
- Drive continuous improvement with trend analysis and metrics.
- Ensure procedures and work instructions are efficient.
- Propose and implement new practices and processes.
- Demonstrate commitment to customer service by resolving issues promptly.
- Consult with reporting managers on complex issues.
- Establish new measurement systems where applicable.
- Share best practices across Jabil facilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
