Chaminade College Preparatory seeks a service oriented computer professional to join our outstanding IT team as a Temporary Support Specialist at our middle and high school campuses in Chatsworth and West Hills, California.

The IT Support Specialist provides technical assistance to Chaminade students and staff, answers questions and resolves computer problems for end users, and works with vendors on IT department needs to ensure timely service and support.

Qualifications

• Must have a combination of education and experience equivalent to the following.
• High School Diploma; College degree preferred; A+ Certification or related training.
• Two years experience in the technical support field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Trains users in the operations of the network and authorized software.
• Provides exceptional customer service and timely responses to Help Desk requests.
• Assists with department paperwork, documentation and inventories.

Chaminade College Preparatory seeks a service oriented computer professional to join our outstanding IT team as an Temporary Support Specialist at our middle and high school campuses in both Chatsworth and West Hills, California.

The Position Representative Duties

The IT Support Specialist reports to the Director of Technology and receives work direction from the campus Laptop Hospital Lead. The IT Support Specialist provides technical assistance to Chaminade students and staff, answers questions and resolves computer problems for end users. Works with laptop vendor on a variety of IT department needs. The IT Support Specialist is the primary support for student laptop computer needs.

• Supports the philosophy, principles and characteristics of Marianist Education.
• Assures quality services to students, faculty, staff, parents, outside organizations and communities.
• Assists students and other users with a variety of computer software and hardware issues. Troubleshoots problems and recommends solutions.
• Provides timely and efficient responses to all Student Help Desk requests. Informs users on the status of requested orders and Help Desk requests.
• Trains users in the operations of the network and authorized software.
• Practices sound economic principles.
• Continually updates and informs the Laptop Hospital Lead on the status of all equipment and user requests.
• Under the direction of the Laptop Hospital Lead, contacts vendors and follows up on purchases and merchandise returns as necessary.
• Responds to and follows-up on phone communications with vendors and purchase orders as necessary.
• Investigates pricing, availability, compatibility, warranties, etc. of products.
• Educates users on MIS policies and enforces policies within scope of position. Reports all violations to the Network Manager or to the Director of Technology.
• Provides exceptional customer service and level of excellence required by department.
• Assists with department paperwork, documentation and software and hardware inventories.
• Works diligently in improving and updating level of technical expertise as the technical field changes frequently.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Hardware

• Performs \"in house\" hardware repairs as needed in a timely manner.
• Performs hardware upgrades of existing equipment, installations and connections.
• Transports equipment as necessary.

Software

• Assists campus Network Manager in school-wide upgrades and installations of locally installed programs.
• Performs workstation setups and configurations if needed.
• Performs periodic virus checkups and performance optimizations on student workstations.
• Assists users with problem solving and troubleshooting.
• On a timely basis, downloads software drivers, fixes and patches over the Internet.
• Performs imaging of computers.

Minimum Education and Experience Preferred

Qualified candidates should have a combination of education and experience equivalent to the following:

• High School Diploma. College degree preferred.
• A+ Certification or related experience/training.
• Two years experience in the technical support field is preferred.

Desired Qualifications

• Working knowledge of a variety of Microsoft operating systems.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft network operating systems.
• Expertise in hardware troubleshooting, upgrades and repairs.

• Working knowledge of network security issues.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Expertise in computer system imaging.
