Job summary

Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas, is seeking a Lead IT Support Technician to provide technical support for student tablets and computer support for faculty and staff, and to oversee daily operations in the absence of the IT Manager for Technical Support.

This on-site role requires strong communication, hands-on maintenance, and the ability to supervise staff, ensure safe, high-quality work, and coordinate issues efficiently as they arise.

Qualifications

  • Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and two years of relevant experience.
  • Requirements may be met through a combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work independently and interact professionally to accomplish complex interdependent technical objectives.
  • Certified IT support, wide knowledge of software applications, knowledge of system administration for multiple platforms.
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related field preferred.
  • An Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field and 3 years of experience in maintenance of hardware and software for multiple users may be substituted for a BS degree.
  • Eight years of appropriate experience in maintenance of hardware and software for multiple users may be substituted for a BS degree.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of hardware and software programs.

Job description

About This Role

Provide technical support for student tablets, provide computer support for faculty and staff, help with overall maintenance concerning technology within the CVM. In the absence of the IT Manager for Technical Support, as Lead Worker oversee and coordinate daily operations as needed. This involves supervising staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely, and maintaining high standards of work quality. Facilitate communication and address any issues that arise.

This position is On-site.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.
