About This Role

This position is responsible for the maintenance, design, and/or development of software applications that are support operations of The Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) and the Biosecurity Research Institute (BRI).

This position is On-site.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.

What You'll Need to Succeed
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Six years of relevant experience. Requirements may be met through a combination of work experience and education.
  • Valid Driver's license upon employment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems or closely related fields requiring a high degree of software design and programming expertise.
  • Knowledge and experience with RESTful services, MVC framework, SQL databases, DevOps methodologies and Salesforce.
  • Experience with contemporary design patterns, including MVVM; iterative software and engineering processes such as Agile; version control tooling and documentation; development and debugging tools.
Additional Role Information:
  • During Federal Select Agent Program inspections (scheduled and unscheduled) employee may be asked to be available to assist the Biosafety team helping with report generation, data investigation and other duties as assigned. Inspections typically occur twice annually, and each inspection typically takes a week. Vacation will not be approved during an inspection.
  • Valid Driver's license upon employment.
  • Ability to receive a favorable background check from KSU and pass Select Agent Background Check upon employment.
