Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-person problem resolution for hardware/software in Support Center and DC.
  • Onboard new associates with laptops, desktops, thin clients, phones and training.
  • Perform hardware/software upgrades and maintenance in MDF/IDF closets.
  • Troubleshoot and document software installations and changes.
  • Plan and execute projects to meet deadlines and train users.

Description
Position Overview:

An IT Support Specialist serves as the main point of contact for all Corporate and/or Distribution Center end user repairs and requests for assistance.Responsibilities include hardware setup/repair requests, software installation, assisting with problem solving, and advanced technical training and troubleshooting.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide prompt in-person problem resolution for a variety of hardware/software platforms within our Support Center and Distribution Center buildings.
  • Provide professional customer service to all building executives, managers, and associates.
  • Complete setup and onboarding of new associates with laptop, desktop, thin client, phone setup, and training.
  • Complete replacement/upgrade of hardware/software for all designated building associates.
  • Complete troubleshooting and any maintenance in MDF/IDF closets for all hardware.
  • Complete necessary Ethernet cabling repair, maintenance, and replacement if needed.
  • Create and update custom images for deployment.
  • Provide documentation for all software installations, upgrades, and use.
  • Provide timely assistance to support requests.
  • Ability to prioritize requests according to importance and length of time in queue.
  • Assist in planning and implementing projects to meet deadlines.
  • Conduct training sessions on proper operation and use of systems.
  • Perform periodic maintenance of systems at the Support Center and Distribution Center buildings.
  • Complete any additional responsibilities and/or duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years’ experience in Information Technology performing on-site desktop/thin client support and maintenance.
  • Experience supporting workstations in a large domain environment
  • Experience with security, disk encryption, and anti-virus products on Microsoft Windows PCs and laptops.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory
  • Experience with managing profiles and certificates on Microsoft Windows PCs and laptops
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows PCs, laptops, and thin clients using remote tools (RDP, VMWare, Teams)
  • Application Support for MS Office 365 on Microsoft Windows PCs, laptops, and MACs.
  • Basic scripting with VBS and PowerShell.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include occasional evenings and weekends as needed for projects.
  • Ability to travel occasionally.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to preserve confidentiality of information.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks and activities and work within strict timeframes and deadlines.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and listening skills; ability to articulate complex technical topics for non-technical audiences.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds.
  • Ability to push and pull over 100 pounds.
  • Ability to work in high places.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to remain in a normal seated position regularly.
  • Ability to see, hear, and speak regularly.
  • Ability to grip, reach, and pinch with arms and hands frequently.
  • Ability to bend and twist occasionally.
