Vitus Energy / Alaska Fuel Holdings is seeking an IT Support Specialist I to provide day-to-day technical support for employees, offices, remote Alaska locations, and company vessels.This is an entry-level to early-career position working under the direction of the Systems Manager. The successful candidate will serve as the first point of contact for common IT problems, prepare and deploy computers and mobile devices, maintain accurate equipment and support records, and assist with the operation of the company’s Microsoft Office 365, network, communications, and business systems.
This position is ideal for someone with strong troubleshooting skills who wants hands-on experience across a broad IT environment. Training and guidance will be provided for company-specific systems.
This is primarily an on-site position based in Anchorage, Alaska. Work includes office-based support, equipment staging, and occasional visits to warehouses, fuel facilities, docks, or vessels. Some troubleshooting may involve noisy, cold, outdoor, industrial, or confined work areas.
Occasional after-hours, and weekend, assistance may be required for urgent operational issues, planned maintenance, employee onboarding, or equipment replacement. Travel to remote Alaska locations may occasionally be available or required depending on operational needs and the employee’s experience.
This position is intended to develop into an IT Support Specialist II, Network Support Specialist, or Junior Systems Administrator role as the employee gains experience with the company’s infrastructure and demonstrates the ability to manage more advanced assignments independently.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate but may be loud on occasion. Work is usually done in an office setting and sometimes at a client facility or job site. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, vehicles and equipment.
The employee must be able to physically travel by air within the State of Alaska.
