Job summary

The Town of Palm Beach is seeking an Information Technology Specialist to be the first point of contact for technical support, handling Tier 1 assistance for computers, mobile devices, printers, network access and business applications.

The role includes asset management, software license tracking, device deployment, routine maintenance, and escalation of complex issues with proper documentation. Strong customer service and foundational IT skills are essential.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
1 year of experience supporting Windows computers, peripherals and end users in a help desk or desktop support role.
Valid Florida driver's license and ability to travel to remote sites.
Ability to pass a background check (CJIS for public safety roles).
Must hold or obtain CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

Provide Tier 1 end-user support by phone, email, chat, ticketing system and in person.
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, printer, and connectivity issues including LAN, Wi‑Fi and VPN.
Log, categorize, prioritize and update service desk tickets.
Escalate Tier 2/3 issues with complete notes.
Support remote users/sites via remote access and endpoint tools.
Deploy, configure, upgrade and retire devices and peripherals.
Image and provision devices using modern deployment tools.
