Job summary

SPS North America is seeking an IT Support specialist to securely wipe drives, verify erasure, and ensure compliance with data security protocols. You will troubleshoot hardware issues related to storage and maintain drive inventory while disposing of E-Waste per policy.

The role emphasizes accuracy, documentation, and adherence to security standards. Prior experience with data sanitization tools and cloning imaging is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in IT support, computer repair, or data security.
• Familiarity with data sanitization tools and techniques.
• Basic knowledge of HDD, SSD, NVMe and file systems.
• Ability to follow strict security protocols.
• Ability to free up space on hard drive and improve performance.
• Keep track of inventory and depose of E-Waste with serial numbers.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Experience with disk cloning and imaging software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform secure data wiping on hard drives using industry-standard tools.
• Ensure compliance with data security protocols and regulations.
• Verify and document successful data erasure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware issues related to storage devices.
• Dispose of or repurpose wiped drives per company policy.
• Maintain accurate inventory of processed drives.
