Greenwood Genetic Center IT is seeking an IT Support Specialist to assist users, resolve helpdesk tickets, and manage hardware/software for the organization. The role requires handling hardware deployments, software updates, and documentation of processes.

You will work in a collaborative IT team, support video conferencing setups, and ensure network concepts and security practices are understood. Travel to satellite offices in South Carolina may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certifications with 1 year IT experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Knowledge of Windows desktop operating systems and security concepts.

Responsabilités

• Install new hardware and software and maintain existing components.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with user devices and peripheral equipment.
• Review manufacturers' specifications on connections and methods to locate problems.
• Perform software installations and updates.

• Work independently or in a team environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• None

Duties/Responsibilities

• Provide support for users and resolve helpdesk tickets
• Install new hardware and software and maintain existing components
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with user devices and peripheral equipment
• Review manufacturers' specifications on connections and methods to locate problems
• Perform software installations and updates
• Document new processes and essential procedures
• Perform other related duties as assigned
• Work independently or in a team environment
• Travel to satellite offices within South Carolina
• Manage Video Conferencing (Zoom, Teams, Codecs)

Required Skills/Abilities

• Good understanding of helpdesk ticketing and user support
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (routing, switching, VLANs, wireless)
• Network+ certification preferred
• Familiar with security concepts and exploits (phishing, antivirus, malware, encryption)
• Security+ certification preferred
• Familiar with printers and print services
• Familiar with Microsoft Office and O365
• Familiar with computer hardware components and peripherals (hard drives, memory, power supplies, CPUs, video cards, PCI slots, system boards)
• Knowledge of Desktop Windows operating systems
• Understanding of safety as it relates to computer repair

Education And Experience

• Associate's degree in a computer-related field, or certifications [Network+, Security+] and one year of experience in the IT field are acceptable.
• Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Must be comfortable with climbing a ladder.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
• Must be comfortable with standing for extended periods.
