Job summary

UnityTec seeks an IT Support Specialist to deliver comprehensive IT customer support, troubleshoot hardware and software, and maintain enterprise systems in Battle Creek, MI. You will analyze user requirements, train users, and ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies while supporting enterprise applications such as DLA eProcurement platforms.

Required DoD 8570 Baseline Certification (IAT II/III), at least six years of IT experience, and current Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: IAT II or IAT III.
• Minimum six (6) years of progressive IT experience; three (3) years in specialized IT processing.
• Experience with server administration, domain administration, and security controls as per DLA CE.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and incident management for hardware and software issues.
• Install, configure, and maintain IT assets; deliver Help Desk support.
• Consult with end-users to identify technology needs and drive IT solutions.
• Develop training materials and user guides to reduce support volume.
• Support enterprise applications and ensure cybersecurity policies are followed.

Job Overview

We are seeking an IT Support Specialist to join our team. You will deliver comprehensive IT customer support by deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining enterprise hardware and software systems while ensuring strict adherence to cybersecurity policies. Additionally, you will drive continuous IT improvement by analyzing user requirements, identifying problem trends, developing tailored user training, and potentially supporting specialized enterprise applications such as DLA’s eProcurement platforms. This position is in Battle Creek, MI.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Technical Support and Incident Management
  • Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware and software issues in response to customer-reported incidents.
  • Executing the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of IT assets.
  • Providing comprehensive user assistance and Help Desk support services.
• IT Business Analysis and Consulting
  • Consulting directly with end-users to identify technology needs and define system requirements.
  • Conducting feasibility studies, performing trade-off analyses, and preparing formal business cases for IT solutions.
  • Planning and analyzing work processes to optimize IT service delivery.
  • Researching and reporting on historical problem trends and system anomaly patterns to drive proactive improvements.
• User Enablement and Training
  • Developing comprehensive instructional guides and training materials.
  • Facilitating computing and information system training sessions to enhance end-user proficiency and reduce support volumes.
• System Administration and Operations
  • Developing and maintaining IT problem-tracking databases to ensure accurate incident lifecycle management.
  • Performing critical system backup and disaster recovery operations to ensure data integrity and system availability.
• Cybersecurity and Information Assurance
  • Ensuring the rigorous, continuous application of established information security and cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices across all support activities.
• Specialized Enterprise Application Support
  • Delivering targeted functional and technical support for specific enterprise environments, including the Defense Logistics Agency’s (DLA) eProcurement system(s).

Required Qualifications:

• DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT II or IAT III
• A minimum of six (6) years of progressive experience in the field of Information Processing, three (3) years of which are specialized in Information Processing and involve a range of hardware/software solutions, two years (2) of which are concentrated, hand‑on experience in installing, diagnosing problems, and training customers in the use of software and hardware.
• Computing Environment : Server Admin M and Domain Admin Z (Cloud or Microsoft Operating System per DLA Approved CE)

• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Must possess a current Secret clearance.
