Job summary

East Tennessee Children's Hospital is offering a temporary IT internship for TCAT students. The role supports the help desk by addressing basic hardware and software issues, imaging and installation tasks, and documenting inquiries in the service desk system.

Under supervision, you will gain practical experience in system analysis, software installation, and IT operations while developing professional skills in a healthcare IT environment.

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred or currently enrolled in Computer Science or related field.
• No prior work experience required.
• Understanding of operating systems, software installation and test procedures, security and operational requirements and clinical and financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Provides support and resolution for basic hardware, network, software, and application problems.
• Escalates calls for urgency, complexity, and organizational impact when needed.
• Records all user inquiries from initial call to incident resolution in the service desk system.
• Ensures secure, clean computer environment and follows maintenance and shift turnover procedures.
• Delivers excellent customer service and builds client relationships through follow-up.
