Job summary

United CNC Machining, a precision manufacturer serving aerospace and defense, is seeking an IT Support professional to assist the office and shop floor with daily technical issues, device setup, and Microsoft 365 administration.

You will work closely with the IT Manager to maintain network connectivity, security controls, and compliance readiness (CMMC 2.0+, NIST, ITAR), while helping minimize downtime and support production systems.

This role supports the IT Manager in providing day-to-day technical support across United CNC's office and shop floor, including user account management, Microsoft 365 support, hardware and network troubleshooting, and assistance with cybersecurity and compliance efforts (CMMC 2.0+, NIST, ITAR).

Key Responsibilities

The primary duties consist of but are not limited to the following.

IT Systems & User Support

• Provide daily technical support to office and shop floor employees
• Set up, configure, and maintain computers, printers, and mobile devices
• Manage user accounts, passwords, and access permissions
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
• Support Microsoft 365 environment (email, Teams, file access)

Network & Infrastructure Support

• Assist in maintaining network connectivity across both facilities
• Support Wi-Fi, routers, switches, and basic network troubleshooting
• Help ensure up time of production-related systems and equipment connectivity

Cybersecurity & Compliance

• Assist in maintaining cybersecurity policies and best practices
• Support compliance efforts for CMMC 2.0+, NIST, and ITAR
• Help monitor systems for vulnerabilities and unusual activity
• Assist with access control, MFA enforcement, and device security
• Participate in internal audits and compliance documentation

Documentation & Asset Management

• Maintain IT documentation, procedures, and logs
• Track IT equipment, licenses, and inventory
• Assist with onboarding/offboarding processes

Manufacturing Environment Support

• Support IT needs on the shop floor (machine connectivity, terminals, etc.)
• Work closely with operations to minimize downtime
• Help ensure systems supporting production remain stable and secure

Qualifications

Required:

• Basic knowledge of computers, networks, and troubleshooting
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Good communication and customer service mindset
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion

Preferred:

• Coursework, certification, or experience in IT or Cybersecurity
• Familiarity with:
• Microsoft 365
• Windows OS
• Basic networking concepts
• Interest in cybersecurity or compliance frameworks

Physical & Mental Demands:

• Must be able to work in a sitting position for extended periods of time (at desk, while driving, and/or travel) in an office/industrial environment.
• Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
• Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions.
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
• May be exposed to moving machinery, sharp metal chips, coolants, industrial chemicals, noise, heavy materials, etc.
• Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
• Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
• Ability to hear in person and via phone.
