Job summary

Vast is hiring a Subcontracts Specialist, IT/Software, to support the design and build of space systems from our Long Beach location. You will coordinate IT subcontracting, develop sourcing strategies, and manage supplier performance across the indirect spend.

The role requires negotiating SaaS and hardware contracts, leading RFQs/RFPs, and collaborating with IT and Legal teams to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations. Willingness to travel up to 20% is needed.

Qualifications

• Experience negotiating software and IT contracts, including pricing, lead times and favorable terms.
• Experience generating RFPs and managing delivery schedules.
• Experience in all aspects of the Indirect Procurement process from demand identification through fulfillment.
• Ability to negotiate for indirect products including SaaS and hardware.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to identify IT needs, specs and development of subcontracting strategies.
• Develop and execute procurement strategies to source IT suppliers efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, evaluate capabilities and negotiate contracts per RFQ/RFP guidelines.
• Manage the procurement lifecycle from supplier selection and contract negotiation to performance monitoring.
• Collaborate with IT and Legal teams to ensure contracts comply with policies and regulations.
• Interface with Vast customers and senior leadership to understand IT requirements and priorities.
• Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, and enforce contract terms.
• Directly manage suppliers for Indirect spend and use scorecards and quarterly reviews to measure value.
• Seek alternate ideas to provide business solutions and competitive advantage.
