Job summary

Invariant LLC in Washington, DC, is seeking an experienced IT leader to oversee the firm’s full spectrum of IT functions. This hands-on role blends technical expertise with strategic planning to secure data, manage infrastructure, and shape IT policies for a fast-growing professional services firm.

Reporting to the COO, you will mentor a small IT team and ensure seamless operations across macOS/Windows, Azure, and Microsoft 365, including security, backups, and user support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field preferred.
• 7+ years of broad IT experience.
• Full-time, in-person attendance at DC office.
• Experience mentoring a direct report or small team.
• Strong knowledge of Apple products and iOS.
• Experience with blended IT roles.
• Strong understanding of IT strategy for a fast-growing business.
• Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with IT resource management.

Responsibilities

• Advise COO on risks, opportunities, and infrastructure needs.
• Manage and maintain network infrastructure and office openings/relocations.
• Implement and maintain IT security measures.
• Oversee cybersecurity, backups, disaster recovery, and user training.
• Monitor system performance and plan IT projects.
• Maintain IT documentation and vendor relationships.
• Administer platforms such as SentinelOne, Addigy, and Microsoft 365.
