Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an IT Storage Engineer to design and maintain enterprise storage infrastructure, supporting simulation, telemetry, and test data processing. The role requires hands-on work with NetApp, Pure Storage, Vast, and HPE Alletra in an on-premises environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of NFS, CIFS/SMB, iSCSI, and NVMe over TCP, plus automation experience with Python, PowerShell, or Ansible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in storage engineering.
• Experience with enterprise storage platforms such as NetApp, Pure Storage, Vast, and HPE Alletra.
• Strong understanding of storage protocols: NFS, CIFS/SMB, iSCSI, NVMe over TCP.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain multi-tier storage infrastructure.
• Architect and operate high-throughput, low-latency storage for mission-critical workloads.
• Administer NetApp, Pure FlashArray/FlashBlade, Vast, and HPE Alletra systems.
• Monitor performance across hardware, RDMA, and protocol layers; troubleshoot complex issues.
• Develop automation for monitoring, capacity planning, configuration, and alerting.
• Collaborate with compute, networking, and applications teams.
