SAIC is seeking an IT Specialist to support the USSOCOM SITEC 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance contract, delivering IT services to over 70,000 users worldwide in software development, network services, security, and end-user computing. The role is on-site at MacDill AFB, Florida.

The position requires DoDD 8570 Level II IAT certification, CCNA or Microsoft 365 Modern Desktop Administrator, and ability to travel 10% within CONUS plus TS/SCI-capable clearance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide incident response using Remedy and other tools.

• Install and maintain telecommunications systems and equipment.
• Install and test cable/fiber, patch panels, routers and switches.
• Troubleshoot system hardware, software, and networking issues.
• Install, configure, and maintain VTC endpoints.
• Label and organize cables and equipment per standards.
• Transport equipment between locations as needed.
• Disposal of end-of-life equipment.

SAIC has an immediate opening for an IT Specialist to support the USSOCOM SITEC 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) contract. The USSOCOM mission is to provide fully capable Special Operations Forces (SOF) to defend the United States and its interests and synchronize planning for global operations against terrorist networks. You will support the USSOCOM mission as we partner with SOF military and civilian members to provide world‑class IT services and support that connect over 70,000 users around the world in the areas of software development/maintenance, network services, security, end-user computing, and test and evaluation. This position is based on-site at MacDill AFB Florida.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Providing incident response using multiple software applications, including Remedy.
• Providing installation, tuning, testing, operating, monitoring, upgrading, patching, break/fix, defense, and management of WAN and LAN routing and switching infrastructure hardware and software including network hardware and software.
• Installing, configuring, imaging and maintaining desktop and laptop PCs, mobile devices, and peripherals, such as printers.
• Install, configure, upgrade, patch, optimize and monitor operating system (OS) software applications.
• Removing antiquated IT equipment and perform data migration to new machines.
• Installing, maintaining, and assessing current and future telecommunications systems and equipment.
• Installing new cable/fiber. Terminating and testing new cable/fiber. Testing and troubleshooting faulty cable/fiber.
• Analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving system hardware, software, and networking issues.
• Installing, configuring, and maintaining VTC endpoints.
• Comply with cable routing from communication rooms to Consolidation Points (CPs) and from CPs to furniture jacks, terminating / troubleshooting, connecting from furniture plate to devices.
• Disposal of excess and of end‑of‑life equipment.
• Label all cables, patch panels, CPs and other devices IAW SOCOM Standard.
• Unpack and dispose of all packing and excess materials.
• Transporting equipment between locations as required.
• Installing network devices in communication room i.e. patch plates, routers and switches.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• DoDD 8570 01-M IAT II AND CCNA OR Microsoft 365 Certified Modern Desktop Administrator.
• 10% travel requirement within CONUS.
• Must have solid technical skills, with experience in a variety of network, software, and hardware protocols involved in IT Specialist operations.
• Must have comprehensive knowledge of Government hardware, software, and network components.
• Have a demonstrated ability to communicate exceptionally well both orally and in writing, as well as have a positive customer service attitude.

Highly Desired:

• DoW 8140 compliant under the Work Role Code 411 - Technical Support Specialist - Intermediate level or higher by 1 Oct 26.

Education/Years of Experience:

• Min 6 years with HS Diploma, 4 years with AS/AA degree, or 2 years with BS/BA.

Clearance Requirement:

• Active DoW Top Secret Clearance is required to start with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI if hired.
