Job description

Current job opportunities are posted here as they become available.

BOOST LLC is a dynamic management consulting firm that offers an array of government-compliant back-office solutions to support our teaming partners within the GovCon space. We are working with our client, Don Selvy Enterprises (DSE) to find their next highly skilled IT Systems Administrator.

About DSE

DSE, Inc. is a team of experienced professionals dedicated to engineering, training, and program management that enables front-line soldiers, sailors, and Marines to fully exploit the tactical capabilities of aviation and maritime platforms. We accomplish this by using the most qualified employees and keeping abreast of every new capability in aviation, maritime technologies, and simulation/training technology as it emerges. Our wide range of expertise is constantly expanding as we seek valued members of the DSE team and work to develop each of them to their fullest potential in the field. To this day, DSE continues to foster a work environment that supports ingenuity and the care for each member of the team.

The Role

The IT Systems Administrator will support DSE's day-to-day IT operations, Department of Defense customer environments, and DSE's expanding CMMC Level 2 cybersecurity compliance program. This is a hands-on role for an administrator who can independently manage Microsoft and Windows systems, resolve Tier 2 and 3 technical issues, maintain secure configurations, and help keep DSE's controlled unclassified information (CUI) environment assessment-ready.

The position is mostly remote, with occasional travel to the Washington, DC area to configure and support IT systems and to work directly with DSE personnel, defense contractors, U.S. Government stakeholders, and foreign military representatives or dignitaries. The successful candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance.

Why DSE

DSE doesn't just ask for your experience, it rewards it. DSE's PTO program is experience-based rather than tenure-based, meaning the relevant industry experience you bring with you can qualify you for a higher PTO allocation from day one, rather than starting over at the bottom like you would at most employers. It's a rare structure in this industry, where most companies only reward the tenure you earn after you join, not the years of expertise you bring with you.

That same philosophy carries through the rest of the benefits package:

  • Starting salary range: $80,000 to $105,000 annually
  • 100% company-paid medical and dental premiums for employees (50% for dependents)
  • 401(k) with up to a 4% company match
  • Fully paid life, short-term, and long-term disability insurance, no cost to you
  • Employer-funded FSA plus HRA contributions toward your deductible
  • Experience-based PTO : your prior relevant experience can qualify you for a higher PTO allocation from day one, plus the option to purchase additional PTO
  • 11 paid holidays (6 national, 5 floating)
  • Tuition reimbursement to support continued professional growth
Responsibilities
  • Administer Windows 10/11 workstations, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, user accounts, permissions, MFA, and endpoint configurations
  • Provide Tier 2 and 3 troubleshooting for laptops, software, Microsoft 365 services, printers, peripherals, remote connectivity, and common network issues
  • Manage employee onboarding and offboarding, device provisioning, access changes, software installation, patching, and security configuration baselines
  • Maintain accurate hardware and software inventories, administrative records, change documentation, configuration records, and technical procedures
  • Support Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, email security, retention settings, and related administrative functions
  • Troubleshoot and support core network services and connectivity, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi-Fi, and secure remote access
  • Help manage and mature DSE's CMMC Level 2 program and NIST SP 800-171 Rev. 2 security requirements across systems that process, store, or transmit CUI
  • Maintain and update CMMC evidence and compliance documentation, including the System Security Plan (SSP), Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), policies, procedures, network and system diagrams, inventories, and assessment artifacts
  • Implement and monitor technical safeguards related to access control, identification and authentication, configuration management, media protection, audit and logging, incident response, system integrity, and risk management
  • Help maintain the defined CUI security boundary and ensure approved methods are used for CUI storage, transmission, collaboration, removable media, and disposal
  • Support vulnerability remediation, patch management, endpoint protection, account reviews, secure configuration, and recurring compliance checks
  • Prepare for and support internal reviews, customer requests, and CMMC assessment activities, including evidence collection and coordination with third-party assessors and cybersecurity consultants
  • Assist with employee security awareness, CUI handling guidance, and implementation of corrective actions identified through audits or assessments
  • Travel occasionally to the Washington, DC metropolitan area to configure, maintain, troubleshoot, or transition IT systems for DSE-supported customers and partner organizations
  • Work professionally and discreetly with defense contractors, U.S. Government personnel, and foreign military representatives or dignitaries in sensitive operational environments
  • Document on-site work, system changes, configurations, and follow-up actions so support activities remain repeatable, auditable, and compliant with DSE security requirements
Required Education
  • No specific degree requirement is stated; equivalent hands-on experience in IT support or systems administration will be considered
Required Experience
  • Approximately three to five years of hands-on experience in IT support, systems administration, or a similar technical role; equivalent practical experience will be considered
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows 10/11 administration, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Microsoft Intune, user and account administration, endpoint security, and common business IT systems
  • Working knowledge of CMMC Level 2, NIST SP 800-171, CUI handling, or comparable DoD cybersecurity and compliance requirements
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot complex user, endpoint, software, access, and connectivity issues and clearly document the resolution
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, Wi-Fi, and secure remote access
  • Strong written communication, documentation, organization, and attention to detail, especially for security and compliance records
  • Ability to work effectively in a mostly remote environment while coordinating with management, users, contractors, vendors, and external stakeholders
  • Experience supporting a defense contractor, government contractor, or other regulated environment that handles CUI or sensitive government information is a plus
  • Direct experience preparing for a CMMC Level 2 assessment, maintaining CMMC evidence, supporting NIST SP 800-171 controls, or remediating assessment findings is a plus
  • Experience with secure or FedRAMP-authorized CUI collaboration and file-sharing platforms such as Kiteworks is a plus
  • CompTIA Security+, Network+, Microsoft, or related IT and cybersecurity certifications preferred
  • Experience with PowerShell, security monitoring, endpoint management, vulnerability management, backup and retention, or basic firewall administration is a plus
  • An active DoD security clearance is a plus but is not required if otherwise eligible for clearance
  • Primarily remote, with occasional travel to the Washington, DC area as mission requirements dictate
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance

DSE is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
