  • Base Pay $75,000.00 / Year
JOB TITLE: IT Specialist
REPORTS TO: Chief Information Officer
SUMMARY OF POSITION:

This position is responsible for all aspects of help desk activities and supports the policies and procedures implemented by the Chief Information Officer. Administers the networks and provides hardware and software support to individual users of the network.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Administer and maintain the corporate network — switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and site-to-site connectivity across our locations
  • Manage System Infrastructure: Setting up and maintaining Virtual Machines for Active Directory, File and Print Services and Line of Business software at each location.
  • Maintain data availability: Maintain and test on-site and off-site backups of critical data and systems.
  • Manage Active Directory: creating and maintaining user accounts, setting security permissions, and standardizing user profiles
  • Monitor network health and performance using our RMM/monitoring tools, and troubleshoot connectivity issues as they arise
  • Provide help desk support and troubleshoot hardware and software issues, coordinating repairs and resolutions
  • Administer Office 365 accounts — creating user accounts and installing software on employee computers
  • Evaluate and install system and network upgrades, and assess new hardware/software for compatibility with existing network infrastructure
  • Support the IT department with software compliance and the rollout of new hardware and software
  • Ensure compliance with software licensing laws and agreements
  • Own the help desk ticketing system — responding to day-to-day tickets
  • Take on additional duties as needed
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in computer science or a technical school program, plus 5 years of relevant experience — or 5+ years of hands‑on experience in a technology role in lieu of a degree
  • Hands‑on experience administering network hardware — switches, firewalls, wireless access points — and troubleshooting connectivity issues
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory and Office 365 administration
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A high level of responsiveness and a customer‑service mindset
  • Experience with Syteline ERP is a plus
  • Experience in a private or family‑owned business is preferred
