Job summary

WithumSmith+Brown is seeking an IT SOX Auditor/Consultant to join our Risk Advisory practice. You will perform IT General Controls testing, walkthroughs, and tests of operating effectiveness to support SOX engagements for tech, manufacturing, and financial services clients.

This role can be based in NY or NJ offices and follows a hybrid schedule. The ideal candidate holds a BA/BS in a related field, seeks CISA or equivalent, and has 1–2 years of ITGC audit experience with a public firm.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems Administration or related field.
• Possession of, or desire to obtain CISA or other equivalent certifications.
• 1–2 years of experience on ITGC audit/consulting with a public accounting firm.
• Effective client service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Knowledge of IT general controls, operating systems, databases.
• Desire and ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform IT General Controls walkthroughs, testing, and documentation.
• Test operating effectiveness of IT controls and support SOX engagements.
• Evaluate control design and effectiveness for clients in technology, manufacturing, and financial services.
• Identify risks and opportunities for internal control improvements.
• Adapt to changing compliance landscapes and leverage tech-based tools.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing IT General controls consulting, controls walkthrough, and test of operating effectiveness of controls to support ongoing SOX consulting and audit engagements for a diverse client base consisting of technology, manufacturing, and financial services companies.The IT SOX Consultant can be based out of any of the following U.S. office locations (New York, NY; Princeton, NJ; Whippany, NJ; East Brunswick NJ; Red Bank, NJ; Buffalo, NY). In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual’s skills, experience, and qualifications.
