Job summary

WithumSmith+Brown seeks an Life Sciences Audit Senior to lead engagements from planning through completion at our East Brunswick, Princeton, or Whippany offices in NJ.

You will supervise staff, mentor the team, and collaborate with clients and management to resolve issues while upholding US GAAP standards. Hybrid travel across offices is expected, with strong client service as a core focus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required.
• Licensed CPA or working towards CPA certification.
• 2 years of public accounting experience with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff.
• Strong analytical, technical, and auditing skills including familiarity with US GAAP.
• Excellent client service and communication skills.
• Ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engagement team staff on planning and execution of audits, reviews or compilations to deliver high quality client service.
• Oversee day-to-day audit engagement operations including staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, and reporting.
• Provide supervision and support to staff and coordinate with engagement manager and partner.
• Collaborate with managers and partners on client issue resolutions and regulatory/accounting considerations.
• Review general ledger accounts for accuracy and manage multiple engagements to meet deadlines.
• Create and monitor engagement budgets and discuss efficiency improvements.
• Participate in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader.

In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual’s skills, experience and qualifications.
