Job summary

WithumSmith+Brown, PC is seeking an IT SOX Auditor/Consultant to join its Risk Advisory practice in a hybrid role based in Princeton, NJ (in-office three days per week). Responsibilities include ITGC walkthroughs, testing, data analysis, and evaluating IT controls with a focus on risk mitigation.

The ideal candidate holds a IT-related degree, CISA or equivalent certification, and 1–2 years of ITGC audit experience at a public accounting firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Administration, or related field.
• Possession of, or desire to obtain, CISA or other equivalent certifications.
• 1 to 2 years of ITGC audit/consulting experience with a public accounting firm.
• Effective client service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Knowledge of IT general controls, operating systems, databases.
• Desire and ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Process walkthroughs, testing, and documentation of IT General Controls (Access, Change Management, Computer Operations, etc.).
• Obtaining, analyzing and appraising evidentiary data.
• Drawing informed objective opinions on IT controls’ adequacy and effectiveness.
• Preparing work papers summarizing evidentiary data and conclusions.
• Identify and evaluate complex business and technology risks and controls.
• Facilitate use of technology-based tools to assess control design and operating effectiveness.
• Adapt to changing compliance landscape and keep abreast of IT threats and mitigations.

Growth in our Risk Advisory practice has created an opportunity for an IT SOX Auditor/Consultant to work with our SOX practice.

The IT SOX Consultant can be based out of any of the following U.S. office locations: New York, NY; Princeton, NJ; Whippany, NJ; East Brunswick, NJ; Red Bank, NJ; Buffalo, NY. This will be a hybrid in‑office position (three days per week).

Responsibilities

• Process walkthroughs, testing, and documentation of various IT General Controls including Access, Change Management, Computer Operations, etc.
• Obtaining, analyzing and appraising evidentiary data.
• Drawing informed objective opinions as to the adequacy and effectiveness of IT controls.
• Preparing work papers summarizing evidentiary data obtained and conclusions reached.
• Identify and evaluate complex business and technology risks, internal controls which mitigate risks, and related opportunities for internal control improvement.
• Facilitate use of technology‑based tools and methodologies to assess the design and operating effectiveness of controls and implement services.
• Adapt to the ever‑changing compliance landscape and keep abreast with the latest IT threats, mitigation techniques, etc.

The compensation range for this position is $70,000‑$90,000 and varies by location.
