IT Solutions Engineer, Enterprise Data Platforms
SB&O is seeking an IT Solutions Engineer for a contract assignment supporting a large regulated utility client. You will lead enterprise data platform and data engineering delivery. The work spans platform implementation, data governance, technical team coordination, and project controls.
Pay and assignment
- Pay: $76 to $105 per hour, as supplied for this posting. This is candidate pay, not the client's bill rate.
- Schedule: Approximately 40 hours per week, subject to the contract schedule.
- Expected assignment: October 26 through December 31, 2026, subject to client confirmation. The requisition lists 392 total hours. An extension is not promised.
- Work arrangement: Approximately 90 percent remote. The hiring manager prefers local candidates. Some in-person work may be required. The precise worksite and on-site schedule need confirmation.
What you will do
- Lead implementation work involving Palantir Foundry, Snowflake, Ataccama, and cloud data platforms.
- Coordinate data engineering and data management work across technical teams and business partners.
- Guide ETL and ELT delivery, data integration, pipeline orchestration, and warehouse or lakehouse designs.
- Address master data, data quality, metadata, lineage, cataloging, and governance needs.
- Manage delivery plans, resources, budgets, risks, dependencies, and technical handoffs.
- Use Agile and Waterfall methods as the work needs. Track delivery in Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
Required qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- At least 8 years managing complex technology or data-driven projects.
- At least 5 years leading enterprise data platform implementations.
- Project delivery experience with Palantir Foundry, Snowflake, Ataccama, and data engineering or data management solutions.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of ETL and ELT, SQL, data modeling, pipeline orchestration, and data integration.
- Experience with data governance, master data management, data quality, metadata, lineage, and cataloging.
- Experience leading cross-functional technical teams and using Agile and Waterfall delivery frameworks.
- Experience with planning, budget and resource management, risk and dependency management, and Jira or Azure DevOps.
Preferred qualifications
- A master's degree or a PMP, PgMP, Scrum Master, SAFe Agilist, or similar certification.
- Experience in utilities, energy, healthcare, financial services, or another regulated industry.
- Knowledge of privacy and compliance frameworks, DevOps or DataOps, or AI and machine-learning enablement through data platforms.
