Job summary

Lonza Group Ltd. in Houston, TX, seeks an IT Solution Architect to design, implement, and optimize SAP S/4HANA solutions supporting Management Accounting, Product Costing, and Financial Reporting.

You will bridge business requirements and technical capabilities while leading architecture discussions and guiding improvements across finance processes. With 10+ years of IT architecture experience and strong stakeholder management, you will collaborate with Finance, Digital, and Business teams,

Qualifications

• Master's degree in IT Architecture, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 10+ years of IT architecture experience with ERP platforms and business process transformation.
• Proven experience leading or supporting at least one full-cycle SAP implementation.
• Deep expertise in SAP S/4HANA, particularly within Management Accounting, Product Costing, Controlling, and Financial Reporting processes.
• Experience with process mapping, data migration, and SAP system configuration.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all organizational levels.
• Willingness to travel based on project requirements, with more frequent travel expected during the first year of implementation activities.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize SAP S/4HANA solutions supporting Management Accounting processes, including Product Costing, Financial Reporting, Variance Analysis, and Cost Management.
• Partner with Finance, Controlling, Digital, and Business stakeholders to deliver scalable, standardized, and business-aligned technology solutions.
• Act as the bridge between business requirements and technical capabilities, ensuring solutions meet both operational and strategic objectives.
• Lead solution architecture discussions, provide technical guidance, and support continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes.
• Drive innovation and operational excellence through the adoption of best practices and standardized SAP S/4HANA solutions.
• Support process mapping, data migration, system configuration, and the successful delivery of transformation initiatives.
• Collaborate with global teams and stakeholders to improve product costing transparency, reporting quality, and business decision-making.

As a Principal Program Manager, you will ensure programs are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. The IT Solution Architect plays a critical role in driving the IT architecture within the A2D stream, that integrate with S/4HANA to optimize business processes.

What you will do:

Design, implement, and optimize SAP S/4HANA solutions supporting Management Accounting processes, including Product Costing, Financial Reporting, Variance Analysis, and Cost Management.

What we're looking for:

Master's degree in IT Architecture, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

10+ years of IT architecture experience with a strong focus on ERP platforms and business process transformation.

Proven experience leading or supporting at least one full-cycle SAP implementation.

Deep expertise in SAP S/4HANA, particularly within Management Accounting, Product Costing, Controlling, and Financial Reporting processes.

Experience with process mapping, data migration, and SAP system configuration.

Knowledge of project management methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all organizational levels.
