Job summary

Wales & West Housing, based in the UK, is seeking a Service Desk Assistant to join the Technology and Data Service Desk. You will be the first point of contact for staff, providing hands-on support both in person and remotely, diagnosing issues and escalating where needed.

You’ll help set up user devices and support core business systems. The role emphasizes strong communication, customer service, and a structured approach to fault diagnosis, with DBS checks required and sponsorship not offered

Qualifications

• Some Service Desk or IT support experience.
• Good communication and listening skills.
• Able to support both technical and non-technical staff.

Responsibilities

• Act as first point of contact for Service Desk requests, providing practical support in person and remotely.
• Diagnose issues, record accurate information and ensure timely progression or escalation.
• Assist with setup and maintenance of end-user devices (Windows laptops, Apple devices) and promote effective use of business systems.
